Chute Height Sensor

Chute Height Sensor for Sugar Mills

The SRI-designed chute height sensor accurately measures cane height in the chutes that feed each milling tandem in sugar factories. Its output signals are used to control feed rate, giving maximum sugar extraction, lower mill stress and reduced power use.

Higher extraction

Juice reabsorption is reduced, because roller nip pressure is constant and "juice short circuiting" is avoided.

Lower maintenance

Mill loadings are kept within safe limits, because a controlled feed rate reduces mill speed and torque variations.

Cost-effectiveness

The SRI chute height sensor is a single-vendor industry-grade device, designed just for chute height measurement.
